The investigation continues at a theatre just outside of Nashville, Tennessee tonight, where police stopped an attack during a showing of “Mad Max: Fury Road.” The suspect was shot and killed by police before anyone else inside was seriously injured. But questions about the attack still linger.

We’re learning a lot more about the suspect in the attack, but what investigators don’t know at this point is why it happened.

Witnesses say 29-year-old Vincente Montano attacked three people inside the theatre, using a hatchet, pepper spray and a pellet gun. One man was grazed with the hatchet while two people were blasted with pepper spray.

There were a total of eight people in the theatre, including Montano, who police say had a previous arrest record and, a history of mental illness.

According to police, as one of the officers approached Montano inside the theatre, he raised his pellet gun which looked like a semi-automatic weapon. An officer fired, then backed out of the theatre. Montano apparently tried to escape through a back door where he was shot and killed by swat team members, even though they reportedly gave him multiple chances to stand down.
