The Unknown Known

The Unknown Known is a documentary film by American director Errol Morris that chronicles the life of former U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. Through a series of interviews, Rumsfeld talks about his career in Washington D.C., from his time as a congressman in the 60’s to his resignation in 2006.
Morris is known for his use of the “interrotron“, a device he invented that allows him to interview subjects face to face and capturing it from the camera’s point of view. It works similarly to a teleprompter, using video screens and two-way mirrors to project an image in front of the camera lens. The Unknown Known premiered at the Telluride Film Festival last August and was screened in the competition section at the 70th Venice International Film Festival.
The Unknown Known is rated PG.
