United States Senate passes Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’

On Tuesday afternoon, the United States Senate passed President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” which comes with big tax breaks and more spending cuts.
Some Republican members of the senate joined their Democrat counterparts in voting against the bill, but ultimately Vice President JD Vance was the one to break the 50-50 tie.
Thom Tillis of North Carolina, Susan Collins of Maine and Rand Paul of Kentucky were the three Republican senators who joined all Democrats to vote against the passing of the bill.
The effort from members of the GOP to keep pushing this bill is not expected to slow down.
U.S. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson previously told senators not to make changes to what had already been approved. The Senate went ahead and made changes to Medicaid, which may create more problems moving forward.
