United by Trauma donation

A highly decorated veteran in Hamilton is being paired with a very special canine.

Nova is a Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder service dog trained by the outreach program “United by Trauma”.

The organization is made up of volunteers, all from the first-responder community, who provide dogs like Nova to veterans and first responders affected by PTSD.

“United by Trauma” paired up with the Hamilton Police Association, which is sponsoring Nova, to provide the donation on Friday.

The donation by the Hamilton Police Association to “United by Trauma” covers the costs associated with the PTSD service dog, which include training, vet bills, and food.

The vet paired with Nova wishes for his name to remain private.
