Unauthorized gun recovered during roadside stop in Georgetown

A 24-year-old man from Brampton is facing several charges after police discovered an unauthorized gun in his vehicle during a roadside stop.
Halton Regional Police were called to Guelph St. in Norval near Georgetown around 2:30 a.m. Saturday for reports of a white Chevrolet Corvette hitting a guardrail.
Police determined the driver was impaired and during a search of the vehicle they discovered an unloaded Glock 22 .40 caliber pistol.

Shahroz Barber, 24, of Brampton is facing ten separate charges, including unauthorized possession of a firearm and operation while impaired.
