Ukraine says destroyed Chernobyl plant hit by Russian drone

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky says a Russian Drone struck overnight the destroyed Chernobyl nuclear plant.
A video posted by Zelensky on X shows a bright flash of light followed by a tower of smoke rising into the night sky.
Last night, a Russian attack drone with a high-explosive warhead struck the shelter protecting the world from radiation at the destroyed 4th power unit of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

The U.N. Atomic Agency confirmed radiation levels remain unchanged.
Russian officials have not commented on the strike, and Ukraine’s claim of Russian responsibility has not been independently verified.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump said he had a productive call with Vladimir Putin earlier this week, during which both leaders agreed to begin talks aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.
