U.S. Steel Canada court hearing

Thursday is day two of hearings in the ongoing battle involving U.S. Steel Canada.
The company has been arguing it should be allowed to stop paying pension contributions, health benefits and property taxes.
More than a hundred former steel workers packed the courtroom on Wednesday to see if any decision would be made regarding their current pension and benefits package.
U.S. Steel says restructuring has failed, and they intend to sever the canadian operations, from its American parent company.
U.S. Steel Canada can then proceed on its own, or be sold.
To bring stability to the process, U.S. Steel still wants relief from its obligations to current pension, benefit, and tax payments, while it separates itself from its Canadian operations.
