Two youths are facing dozens of charges after several vehicles and homes in Welland were vandalized.

The alleged incidents happened between Jan. 16 and Jan. 25 in neighbourhoods in the north west end of the city.

Officers received several reports that vehicles and homes had been spray paints during the overnight hours. In some cases, the graffiti included vulgar words and images.

Police say a 17-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl were caught committing “multiple acts of mischief” around 3 a.m. Thursday.

The pair was arrested and both are facing 24 counts of mischief each with a value not exceeding $5000.

They have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identity of the youths cannot be disclosed.
