The Hamilton Fire Department says two people were seriously injured in a blaze this morning in the city’s east end.
It happened just after 11 a.m. on Cope Street.
Crews arrived to find heavy fire conditions on the first floor that was spreading to other parts of the home.
The fire was eventually knocked down. Two people who were found outside the home with serious but non-life threatening injuries were taken to hospital.
Officials say the fire was determined to be not suspicious, but the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office has been notified due to the injuries. They add that damage estimates are not currently available.
