Two men seriously injured in stabbing near Niagara Falls casino

Niagara police are investigating after two men were were seriously injured in a stabbing outside of the Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort.

Shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to reports of a stabbing in the area of Fallsview Blvd. and Murray St. after receiving a number of 911 calls.

Officers found two men from Toronto suffering from stab wounds. The men, who are believed to be in their twenties, were taken to a local hospital before being air lifted to an out of region trauma centre.

Police say there was an altercation between two groups on the east sidewalk of Fallsview Blvd. in front of the casino.

The injured men ran to the casino to get help while everyone else fled the scene.

“At present the suspect group is believed to be 4 males wearing dark or black clothing. Their ages are unknown. The suspect group of males is believed to be South Asian possibly Sri Lankan,” said Niagara Police in a news release.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information that could help police with the investigation.

Businesses in the area are being asked to review the security footage between 1:45 a.m. and 2:15 a.m.
