Two separate fires are under investigation after causing significant damage to homes in Hamilton and Stoney Creek.
Crews were called to 360 Cannon St. East near Emerald. St. North around 1:50 a.m. Monday.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they could see smoke billowing from the roof of the home.
Crews knocked down the blaze, which was contained to the top floor and attic area.
It’s estimated the home sustained roughly $100,000 in damage.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Another fire that happened late Sunday afternoon at a home in Stoney Creek is also still under investigation.
It happened on Federal St. near Green Rd. around 5:30 p.m.
Crews battled large flames that were coming from the back of the home. The fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters.
One person who was inside the home was rescued by a neighbour. They were treated on scene by paramedics and then transported to hospital.
There is no damage estimate at this time and the cause of the blaze is still unknown.
