Two fake cops assault senior, steal SUV in Caledonia: OPP

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after two men claiming to be police officers assaulted a senior and stole their vehicle.

Officers responded to reports of a robbery on Argyle St. North in Caledonia shortly before 5 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police learned a 75-year-old resident was assaulted by two men who had identified themselves as police officers.

The duo then stole the victim’s red 2008 Hyundai Tuscon with licence plate AXAM 062.

Investigators describe the suspects as white men in their early 20s. They were well-spoken and were wearing dark clothing with their hoods up.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the assault or who has seen the stolen vehicle to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
