Two arrested after crashing with police cruiser in stolen car in Milton

Halton police have arrested and charged two men after they crashed a stolen vehicle onto a police cruiser in Milton.

Investigators say patrol officers observed a black Lexus sedan driving in the area of James Snow Pkwy. and Steeles Ave. East in Milton shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to a police report, the vehicle had been reported stolen from peel on the same day.

As officers tried to stop the vehicle, it accelerated away. In its attempts to flee, the stolen vehicle struck a separate police cruiser head-on at Esquesing Line and Lawson Rd.

Detectives say two suspects then exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Police say after a brief foot-chase, both suspects were arrested and no injuries were sustained as a result of the collision.

Arvind Singh, 24, of Brampton has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Heroin

Rajbir Singh, 23, of Toronto has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Heroin
  • Flight from Police
  • Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

Investigators say both of the accused were released on undertakings.
