Trump’s tariffs dominate conversation in Liberal party leader debate

The four Liberal leadership contenders faced off Monday night in the first of two debates before the party picks its new leader.

Former Bank of Canada and England Governor Mark Carney faced off against the former Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, Burlington MP and former government house leader Karina Gould, and businessman and former Liberal MP Frank Baylis.

Donald Trump’s tariff threats and the economy dominated the conversation.
