Trudeau attends candlelight vigil for bus crash victims in Laval
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was in Quebec Thursday to pay tribute to the victims who died after a city bus rammed into a daycare.
Community members as well as the mayor joined Trudeau at a candlelight vigil held in Laval where the tragedy took place on Wednesday.
Around 8:30 a.m., a Société de transport de Laval bus collided into the daycare building, which is located at the end of a driveway a significant distance from the closest bus route.

Trudeau reflected on the incident, saying parents have been holding their children a little tighter after this “senselessness” tragedy.
Psychologists in Canada are encouraging parents to be willing to talk about such traumatic events with their children.
Tina Montreuil, a psychology professor at Montreal’s McGill University, says parents should provide a safe space for children to process their emotions.
She says it’s important to practice a responsive approach rather than a reactionary one when discussing tragedies with children.
