The federal Liberals used their late-summer caucus retreat in London, Ont. to announce two big plans to tackle affordability concerns of many Canadians – food prices and housing costs.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he has called on the five largest grocery companies in the country to come up with a plan by Thanksgiving to stabilize food prices.

Adding that his government will remove the GST on construction costs for new rental apartment builds.
