Travel with care: OPP warn of snow squalls for Haliburton area
The Haliburton OPP are advising residents and travellers that a significant weather event is approaching the area and to adjust travel plans if necessary.
Snow squalls are expected to begin late Thursday afternoon, continue overnight and into Friday morning bringing hazardous conditions to the region. Snowfall amounts may reach up to 15 to 30 cm in Haliburton County.
Police say the combination of significant snowfall and blowing snow will lead to reduced visibility and slippery road conditions.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution and stay informed of weather warnings, and travel plans should be adjusted accordingly.
Authorities to say to allow extra time for travel and check road conditions before heading out.
