A fire at a Toronto strip mall has badly damaged at least nine businesses and forced several people out of their apartments.

The fire started around four this morning in Toronto’s Leaside neighbourhood.

Damaged businesses included a dry cleaner, bagel shop, bank, flower shop, and a bar.

As many as 15 people who live in apartments on the second floor were evacuated, but no one was hurt.
