Toronto police release stabbing video

Toronto police have released the identity of the woman who was stabbed to death while walking home from work.

55 year old Nighisti Semret was walking in a Cabbagetown area laneway early Tuesday morning.

She was on her way home from the night shift as a cleaner at the Delta Chelsea Hotel.

Surveillance video shows her being followed by a man.

Police believe Semret lived in Canada by herself, and they haven’t been able to track down her next of kin.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 5′ 10″, wearing dark clothing and a cap.

Toronto police do not believe Semret knew her attacker and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
