Toronto police investigate after woman shot, killed in Etobicoke

Toronto police are continuing to investigate after a woman was shot and killed while in her car in Etobicoke Saturday night.

Officers responded shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday for a disturbance call in the area of Rexdale Blvd. and Highway 427.

Police discovered a white Jeep Cherokee parked on the road with bullet holes in it. A 24-year-old woman who had been shot multiple times was inside the vehicle.

Emergency crews attempted life saving measures but Adele Tolentino Eid of Toronto was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is in the very early stages and police have not released any details about a suspect. Homicide detectives have taken over the case.
