Toronto is hosting its final World Cup match Thursday night and it is a big one.

The rivals Portugal and Croatia are set to heat up the pitch while fans are braving the heat in the streets to take it all in.

The heat actually cancelled a viewing party at Nathan Phillips Square but Portugal and Croatia fans still took to the street, marching to the stadium for this dramatic final showdown in Toronto.

“Don’t wait until you’re thirsty, keep drinking throughout the day. Try to moderate your alcohol intake. Alcohol can be more dehydrating … wear looser, light coloured clothing. Wear a wider brim hat to keep that sun off your face and make sure you’re using sun protection from a sun safety perspective as well,” says Michelle Murti, medical officer of health with Toronto Public Health.

Reports indicate that around 10,000 people flooded the streets Thursday afternoon.

The match starts at 7 p.m. and both teams finished second in their respective groups. But whoever loses tonight is out of the tournament.
