Toronto confirms three new monkeypox cases

There are now five known cases of monkeypox in Toronto, with the city’s public health unit confirming three new cases of the virus.
Toronto Public Health says five other cases are still under investigation.
10 cases that were under investigation have been deemed negative.
The first case was confirmed May 26.
Quebec had 52 confirmed cases as of Wednesday, Alberta has identified its first case, and New Brunswick is awaiting test results on the Maritimes’ first suspected case of monkeypox.
Public health warns anyone who has been in close contact with someone who has monkeypox can catch the rare disease from the same family of viruses that causes smallpox.
Health officials say that it does not spread easily, and is not as transmissible as COVID-19.
