Tolls on Hamilton highways?

The possibility of tolls on some Hamilton highways will be raised at today’s city council meeting.

Councillor Sam Merulla wants staff to look at the impact and cost of applying a toll to both the Red Hill Valley Parkway and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway.

Merulla says his motion will only target out-of-town trucks that use the two highways as short-cuts.

He says his proposal wouldn’t apply to personal vehicles or trucks operated by local businesses.
