Toddle struck by vehicle in driveway

A two year old girl was hit in the driveway of a home on Lawrence Road near Rosedale in Hamilton’s east end Friday afternoon.

The girl was transported to McMaster Children’s Hospital with serious injuries but police say that she was conscious and breathing at the time she was taken to hospital.

Police say the driver of the vehicle who hit her was not a family member. One man at the scene says the property is a rental home with several units. The family of the little girl went to the hospital in a taxi accompanied by 3 little boys and a girl. Neither paramedics or police can confirm if the girl lived in one of the units of this home.

Police say no one is in custody and no charges have been laid as of yet, but the investigation is on going.

Police are thanking the quick action of neighbours and family members who helped save the little girl.
