Tight race for U.S. midterm election; control of Congress unclear

Joe Biden’s presidency is set for tremendous changes no matter the outcome of competitive midterm elections results.

Control of congress is still undecided Wednesday morning as Democrats defeat Republicans in some races.

In Pennsylvania, Democrat John Fetterman defeated Trump-backed republican Dr. Mehmet Oz to flip a highly competitive senate seat that is significant to the democrats’ hopes of maintaining control of the chamber.

Fetterman campaigned while recovering from a stroke.

In Maryland, history was made as the first Black governor Democrat Wes Moore was elected.

Former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has been elected governor of Arkansas. Sanders became the first woman to lead the state and the highest-profile Trump administration official in elected office.

Massachusetts has elected Maura Healy as governor. She will be the first openly lesbian candidate to lead a state.

The race is still too close to call in many other key states.
