Three-year-old child dies in ATV crash in Kawartha Lakes

Ontario Provincial Police says a three-year-old child has died after an ATV crash in Kawartha Lakes.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. Sunday on a private property near the Hamlet of Glenarm.

Police say the child was driving a “beginner-sized” ATV without permission when it rolled.

The three-year-old was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

Police were on the property for several hours collecting evidence. They say the incident is still under investigation.

The name of the child is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
