Three-vehicle collision in Flamborough leaves one dead

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say one person is dead after a three-vehicle collision on Highway 5 in Flamborough on Tuesday.

It happened around 3:00 p.m. in the area of Highway 5 and Ofield Road North, west of Highway 6.

Police say a vehicle travelling westbound started moving into the oncoming lanes and struck a dump truck going in the opposite direction. The dump truck attempted to avoid hitting another vehicle, but in doing so, it hit another vehicle.

OPP say the driver of the vehicle travelling westbound was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a 43-year-old from St. George.

None of the other drivers were injured.
