Ontario Provincial Police say three people have been hospitalized after an SUV flipped over on the QEW near Victoria Avenue in Lincoln and landed in the ditch.
Officers responded to the scene around 7 p.m. Sunday night, and discovered three men trapped inside the heavily damaged vehicle.
One person at the scene told CHCH News that over a dozen bystanders pulled over and tried to help free the passengers from the car before emergency crews arrived.
All three people were transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
A section of the QEW was closed for investigation and clean-up, but has since re-opened.
OPP says its investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information or video footage of the crash is asked to contact police at 905-681-2511 at 1-888-310-1122.
