The Debt is the feature directorial debut of award-winning filmmaker Barney Elliott. The film has picked up multiple awards at various film festivals including Best Script and Best Supporting Actress at the Festival de Málaga, Best Narrative Feature and Best Editing at the Woodstock Film Festival, and most recently the Best International Feature prize at the Gasparilla International Film Festival in Tampa, Florida. The film stars Stephen Dorff, David Strathairn, Brooke Langton and Carlos Bardem.

Set against the backdrop of an international finance deal with profound social implications, a wealthy American businessman sets out to score the deal of a lifetime and gets entangled in a battle for land, money, and power in Peru.

The Debt opens in select theatres on July 8 and hits VOD and digital on July 12, 2016.
