Texas Rangers win 1st World Series title

For the first time in their 63-season franchise history, the Texas Rangers are World Series champions.

The Rangers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-0 in the title-clinching Game 5 last night, to cap an 11-0 record on the road this postseason with three straight wins in the desert.

It was also a “third times the charm” for the “lone stars,” after losing their first two World Series appearances back in 2010 and 2011.

Texas’ first title also came at a hefty cost – as the ball club tries to etch themselves amongst baseball’s elite franchises.

Over the past few years, the Rangers have sunk in more than a billion dollars on players and a new stadium.
