Test strip recalls

Health Canada is recalling some products diabetics use to test glucose levels in their blood.

Some batches of Nova Max Blood Glucose test strips could give false, abnormally high blood sugar readings because they were contaminated when they were manufactured.

Health Canada says that could lead diabetics to give themselves the wrong dose of insulin.

The voluntary recall also affects unused Nova Max plus glucose meter kits, which may also contain the faulty test strips.
