Terry Fox’s brother on cross-Canada cycle to raise funds for cancer

Forty-five years after Terry Fox began his Marathon of Hope across Canada his brother is cycling coast to coast on a National Ride of Hope.
Darrell Fox is leading a group of eight cyclists from Vancouver to St. John’s. They started the ride on June 9 from Stanley Park.
The goal is to travel an average of 250 kilometres a day and to raise a million dollars for innovative cancer research.
After clocking 7,000 kilometres the team is expected to arrive in Newfoundland on July 10 where Terry began his journey by dipping his artificial leg in the Atlantic.
In communities all along the way, local cyclists are invited to join the peloton.
The OPP will provide vehicle escort for the team for the Ontario leg from June 20 to July 2.
