Teenager killed in tragic collision with a snow plow in St. Catharines

A tragedy in St. Catharines unfolded yesterday when a 19-year-old man was killed in a crash after his car collided with a snowplow.
Residents in the area say the road where the crash occurred can be particularly treacherous during the winter months.
Niagara Regional Police say the crash happened on Glenridge Avenue Hill, near Brock University in St. Catharines.
The young man was driving a red Pontiac hatchback down the escarpment at around 1:15 a.m. when his vehicle crossed into the opposite lane and struck a city snowplow heading up the hill.
Police say the driver of the city snowplow was not injured, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
