TORONTO — Toronto police are investigating after a 13-year-old boy was struck by a light rail train in North York Friday afternoon.

Police say the incident occurred in the area of Finch Avenue West and Driftwood Avenue shortly before 3:20 p.m.

Investigators say the teen was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Toronto Transit Commission says service between Finch Avenue West and Norfinch-Oakdale stations was temporarily suspended “due to an injury on track.”

Police say regular LRT service has since resumed and area roads have reopened.

No other details were immediately provided.
