Halton Police have arrested a teen after a robbery at a Burlington gas station.
Police say around 6 a.m. Sunday, a man entered the Plains Rd. gas station and jumped over the counter with a knife in his hand.
He lunged toward the store clerk while holding the knife and ended up cutting the clerk’s hand.
According to police, the suspect stole over $500 before running away.
The clerk called police. He had a bad cut on one finger and had the tip of another finger cut off. He was treated in hospital.
Investigators say the suspect had visited the gas station the day before and tried to break in through the back door.
He was confronted by the store clerk and ran away.
Police arrested a 16-year-old boy outside his Burlington home on Monday.
He’s charged with robbery, aggravated assault, disguise with intent and attempt break and enter.
