Taxi driver robbed at gunpoint in Oakville, man arrested

A 22-year-old man has been arrested after a taxi driver in Oakville was robbed at gunpoint.

It happened on Monday in the area of Winston Churchill Blvd. and South Sheridan Way.

Police say a passenger pointed a firearm at an out-of-town taxi driver after they got into a dispute.

The passenger fled on foot and discarded a bag containing a replica firearm.

The taxi driver did not suffer any physical injuries during the incident.

Enrique Thonson, of Mississauga, was arrested and charged with robbery with a firearm and pointing a firearm.
