Sunday night vehicle collision in Stoney Creek sends two to hospital

One person has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a car crash in Stoney Creek on Sunday night.

The collision happened at approximately 8:50 p.m. at the intersection of Rymal Road East and Fletcher Road.

Officers say that a 2013 Ford F-150 pickup truck was travelling eastbound on Rymal Road when it collided with a 2014 Mazda CX-5 SUV that was turning left onto Fletcher Road.

The driver and passenger of the F-150 sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the Mazda was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The passenger of the Mazda is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Due to the severity of the collision, the Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken over the investigation.
