Stoney Creek man dies in weekend Vaughan, Ont. collision

A Stoney Creek man has died following a two-vehicle collision in Vaughan on Sunday.

York police responded to the incident in the area of Jane Street and Brandon Gate Drive around 7:40 p.m.

A yellow vintage sport coupe, with two people inside, collided with a black SUV, occupied by three people.

The driver of the coupe was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The passenger, a 34-year-old from Stoney Creek, was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts by first responders.

All three occupants of the black SUV were transported to a trauma centre.

York police say one passenger remains in life-threatening condition, while the other occupants sustained serious injuries.

Investigators are appealing to witnesses who have not yet spoken with police to come forward, as well as anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the collision.
