Stay

Stay is a Canadian-Irish drama that tells the story of Abbey, a young woman that falls in love with Dermot, a professor in Ireland. The two start a relationship and soon after Abbey gets pregnant. Being in his fifties, Dermot is reluctant to become a father so he retreats to his family cottage. The two take comfort in friends and family while trying to figure out where their relationship is heading.

The film is an adaptation of a novel by Canadian author Aislinn Hunter. Stay premiered in the Contemporary World Cinema program at TIFF last year. The film stars Taylor Schilling (Orange is the New Black), Aidan Quinn (Elementary), and Michael Ironside (The Machinist).

Stay is rated 14A.
