‘Star Wars’ fans lash out at new director

Most “Star Wars” fans were thrilled when it was announced that Daisy Ridley’s ‘Rey’ is coming back to the big screen in a new movie.

However, some online were less than thrilled that the series would once again feature a female lead.

They took even more issue that the first film in the trilogy would be directed by a Pakistani woman.

The backlash has left “Star Wars” trending all day, unfortunately because of many racist, misogynistic tweets.
