St. Martin’s Manor in Hamilton plans to close down

An unusual form of protest in Hamilton today. A group of young mothers was speaking out. They say the city is going to lose a service that’s provided critical support for young moms and their children for almost 70 years.

St. Martin’s has been in operation for 69 years, since 1954. It provided a home for young mothers, many of them teenagers, as well as child care and other support while the moms went to school. Now, the Manor plans to stop operating at the end of April.
