The annual Mike’s Miracles soccer tournament was held today at Beacon Christian School in St Catharines.
The tournament is named after Mike Vandendool, who died in 2008 at the age of eleven from a rare form of cancer that spread to his brain.
Mike loved to play soccer, so every year since his death his former school hosts the Mike’s Miracles soccer tournament, where grade six students from Christian schools across the golden horseshoe participate. Before his death, Mike started the charity called Mike’s Miracles, whose goal is to raise money and then give it to other charities that directly help children with cancer.
