It’s been a tough week for Toronto police. Constable James Forcillo was found guilty of attempted murder, on Wednesday police announced disciplinary charges had been laid against a Toronto officer under the police services act and then on Thursday criminal charges were laid against four other officers after allegedly providing false testimony in court. All of these incidents involving police have people questioning the integrity of these services and have an impact on public trust.

Retired Toronto police officer Rob McDonald says it’s a tough time to be a cop, “the job is becoming much more difficult and with the advent of smart phones and cameras on all of them people are getting snippets they are not getting whole stories.”

The head of the police union says not only are they concerned about public trust but also the morale of other officers, especially in the Forcillo case.
