Special weather statement issued for parts of Hamilton, Brantford and Niagara

Conservation authorities have issued a flood watch for parts of Hamilton, Halton, Brantford and Niagara on Wednesday.
Heavy rain combined with melting snow could lead to localized flooding in low-lying areas and water pooling on roads.
Environment Canada warns that the frozen ground will reduce the ability for the excess water to be absorbed.
Rainfall amounts are expected to reach 15 to 25 mm, and may change to snow as the temperature falls in the evening.
As temperatures fall, there is a risk that roads will become icy and slippery.
Commuters and residents are warned to exercise extreme caution around bodies of water and while driving.
