Son of God

The life story of Jesus Christ gets a dramatic adaptation with Son of God. Produced by Mark Burnett and his wife Roma Downey, Son of God stars Portuguese newcomer Diogo Morgado in the title role. The film chronicles Jesus’ life from birth, through the gathering and teaching of his disciples, his crucifixion, and his rebirth.

The film is being released on the heels of Burnett and Downey’s TV miniseries The Bible, which received three Emmy nominations at last year’s ceremony including Outstanding Miniseries or Movie. Burnett retained many of the miniseries’ cast members for Son of God including Morgado, British stage actors Greg Hicks and Adrian Schiller, and Downey playing the role of Mary.

Son of God is rated PG.
