Some teacher talks resume

With just weeks to go before labour unrest hits Ontario classrooms again,  formal talks have been scheduled involving two teachers’ unions.

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation says negotiations are set for Aug. 18 and 19, while the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association will hold talks today and tomorrow.

That union will be in a legal strike position as of Monday.

As for public elementary teachers, no talks have been scheduled.

The contracts for all Ontario teachers expired last August.
