TORONTO — Toronto police say they have arrested six teenagers and a young man for their alleged involvement in a stabbing in the north end of the city.

Police say a 16-year-old from Toronto is charged with attempted murder, while five other teens — ranging from 15 to 18 years old — and a 20-year-old man face aggravated assault charges.

The charges stem from a stabbing that police say happened Sunday in the Flemingdon Park area.

Police say the victim and his friends had been in a fight with the suspects earlier in the day and, later on, when the victim was walking in the area, the suspects returned in their vehicles.

Police allege the seven suspects approached the victim and another fight broke out, during which the suspects brandished a knife and stabbed the victim.

Police say the victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
