SIU investigating after man shot with ARWEN in Selkirk

Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating after an OPP officer shot an Anti-Riot Weapon ENfield (ARWEN) at a 48-year-old man in Haldimand County yesterday.

Police say the initial investigation reveals that on Nov. 6, at about 3.52 p.m. officers were called to a home in the Selkirk area for a disturbance.

A man was located and during his arrest he was shot with ARWEN projectiles.

Officers say the man was apprehended and taken to hospital — he was not seriously injured.
