The residents of a home on George Street in Grimsby were unharmed after gun shots were fired into the front window early Saturday morning.

Niagara Regional Police say officers responded to a report of gun fire at the home and found bullets inside the building. It’s not believed to be a random act and the incident is being investigated by detectives from 8 District with the assistance of the Forensic Services Unit.

This is the latest in a number of shootings in the Golden Horseshoe. Nine-year-old Kesean Williams was shot and killed January 23 after shots were fired through his family home in Brampton. On January 30, shots broke through an apartment window in central Hamilton around 3 am, showering a 61-year-old man and 70-year-old woman with shards of glass.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward. Calls to Crime Stoppers of Niagara are anonymous and can be made at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
