Officials have not yet released the names of the 14 people killed in the attack, but their families and friends have started sharing their stories.  While more details are emerging about the two individuals involved in the deadly incidents on New Year’s Day, the FBI says the driver responsible for the New Orleans truck attack acted alone when he drove a pickup truck into a crowd of New Year’s revelers, killing 14 people.

The FBI has identified the driver as 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Bahar Jabbar, a U.S. Army veteran. Neighbors and acquaintances who knew Jabbar expressed being unbelievably shocked and surprised.

The FBI is looking into the suspect’s background and is asking anyone who knew him to come forward.

The attack delayed a college football playoff quarterfinal game between Notre Dame and Georgia at the Sugar Bowl. Today flags were at half-staff outside the Superdome as fans arrived.
